The Decalogue methodology proposes that there are basic principles and strategies in the process of governance that must be present in the initiatives of integrated coastal zone management. These principles are indicators from which it Saquinavir is possible to analyze the maturity and effectiveness of this process. The methodology has been successfully applied by the Integrated Coastal Management Iberoamerican Network (CYTED project 2008–2012), resulting in a published analysis of coastal management initiatives in 13 Latin American countries (Barragán, 2010), including Brazil (Scherer et al., 2010). The same methodology was also used by Onetti et al. (2011) for analysis of the Spanish autonomous communities. In Brazil, some works have been done in the light of the Decalogue, not yet published, as are radioisotope the coastal analysis of the state of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina, and the analysis of Anchieta municipality, Espírito Santo State (Scherer et al., 2014).
